Is the MG ZS approved for UberX in Melbourne?

Most MG ZS vehicles carry a 4-star ANCAP rating, which does not meet UberX's minimum 5-star requirement. However, MG ZS vehicles built from 4 December 2025 onward achieved 5-star ANCAP — making those specific builds UberX eligible. If UberX eligibility is essential, we recommend the MG HS ($60/day) which has a guaranteed 5-star ANCAP rating from 2019.

What ride-share platforms is the MG ZS approved for?

The MG ZS is approved for DiDi, Ola, GoCatch, 13cabs and all major food delivery platforms including Uber Eats, DoorDash and Menulog. For UberX, eligibility depends on the vehicle's build date — confirm with us before booking.

How does the MG ZS compare to the MG HS?

The MG ZS is $2/day cheaper at $58/day and is a compact SUV, while the MG HS is a larger SUV at $60/day. The MG HS has a guaranteed 5-star ANCAP rating and is always UberX eligible. It also has a panoramic sunroof and a larger 463-litre boot. If you need guaranteed UberX eligibility, choose the MG HS.

How does the MG ZS compare to the MG ZST?

The MG ZS ($58/day) and MG ZST ($62/day) are closely related. The ZST adds a 1.3L turbo engine and the MG Pilot safety suite. Both carry a 4-star ANCAP rating and have similar ride-share eligibility. The ZS is the better value if you don't need the extra performance.

What is the boot capacity of the MG ZS?

The MG ZS has a 359-litre boot — practical for everyday use, grocery runs and light luggage. For larger loads, the MG HS offers a 463-litre boot.

Does the MG ZS have Apple CarPlay?

Yes. The MG ZS features a 10.1-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as standard. You can use navigation apps like Google Maps and Waze hands-free.

Is insurance included in the hire rate?

Yes. Comprehensive insurance is included in the $58/day rate. An excess applies in the event of at-fault damage. You do not need to arrange separate insurance.
